Braxton Hicks vs. real contractions
Labor · 4 min
Braxton Hicks are irregular, usually uncomfortable rather than painful, and do not get closer together over time.
Real labor contractions gradually become longer, stronger, and closer together. They often persist through movement and position changes.
Use a contraction timer to track timing objectively. Contact your provider if you are unsure or concerned.
